Please join us on Saturday November 8, 2025 for the 11th Annual Mighty Fitz 5K & 10K in Lewiston, New York to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Great Lakes freighter. A portion of the proceeds from the event to benefit the Lewiston Council on the Arts and the great work they do for our community!
It was 50 years ago on November 10, 1975 when the Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared in the waters of Lake Superior during a severe storm, taking 29 lives with it. After 50 years, the story of the ship continues to intrigue, with some saying its legend is second only to the Titanic.
Both distances will start at 2pm in front of the Brickyard Pub & Restaurant. We have a great USATF certified 5K Course (VIEW 5K MAP) and will also be offering a 10K option (VIEW 10K MAP) for those who are interested! Don't worry, we kept the big hill at the end of the race! There will be one water station located at the top of Artpark Hill and bottled water will be provided to runners at the finish line.

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUPOnline registration will remain open right up until the start of the race. Packet pickup will take place at the Brickyard Brewing Company from 12:00pm right up until the start of the race at 2:00pm. Please register by Friday 10/31/25 at 9am to be guaranteed an official Mighty Fitz t-shirt. A small quantity of extra shirts will be ordered and distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are gone. After that we will provide late participants with a retro shirt or gift of our choice.

POST RACE CELEBRATION All participants are invited to celebrate after the race at the Brickyard Brewing Company after the race where they will enjoy delicious Brickyard food, live music (TBD), and the awards ceremony! We are also excited to announce that BBC is planning to produce a batch of their Gitchegumee beer especially for this event! Stay tuned for more details as it will be unveiled about a week before the race!
PARKING
There will be plenty of free parking in the Village of Lewiston near the start/finish line.
AGE GROUPS & AWARDS
Hand crafted trophies will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K and all participants will be able to download custom finisher certificates from the event page and view/share finish line photos following the race! Age Groups gifts for the top three male and female runners in each of the following age groups...
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and older.

CANCELLATION POLICY
There will be no refunds. In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, or for any other reason deemed necessary by race organizers (ex: state of emergency, etc), we reserve the right to postpone/reschedule the event at our discretion, or offer a virtual alternative if necessary.
TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICES
Timing services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
